Business Development Manager

As we expand our infrastructure and service offerings, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development professional to drive growth within our Clinical Trial Services (CTS) business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and supporting the company’s strategic expansion.

The job

  • Identify new target accounts and create tailored propositions to attract and onboard them.
  • Engage with prospective clients across multiple channels to generate new business.
  • Lead opportunities from initial engagement to closure, coordinating with internal teams to deliver winning proposals.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of client opportunities to meet sales and profitability goals.
  • Monitor and follow up on all leads, opportunities, quotes, and deals.
  • Achieve or exceed annual sales and profitability targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Decision Makers, Influencers, Technical Buyers, and Economic Buyers in target accounts.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to embed Novitan within customer organizations and add value.
  • Drive market share growth by collaborating strategically with all business functions, including Proposals, Operations, and Quality.
  • Ensure timely resolution of project-related issues and client challenges.
  • Foster productive relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve common goals efficiently.
  • Represent Novitan at industry conferences to promote CTS services and engage potential clients.

Your profile

  • Minimum of 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry - experience of selling clinical trial sourcing, packaging & labeling or associated business offerings is preferred.
  • Fluent in English, preferably with German or another European language.
  • A proven track record of generating new business, from initial prospecting and lead generation through to contract award.
  • Strong professional network and experience with international, multicultural environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Able to perform under fast-paced or stressful conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Willing and able to travel globally as needed.
